Frequently asked questions :

What type of gains can I expect for my specific vehicle?
From our tests, gains vary from vehicle to vehicle. If you already have several performance enhancement
modifications, you can expect better than average gains. Unmodified vehicles gain an average of +25HP, and
a 15% increase in fuel efficiency.

Will this work on my ______ vehicle?
Yes, as long as your vehicle is listed, and is not a hybrid or diesel.

Don't you need to know which engine I have?
It's not necessary. The Volo Chip's on-board EPROM is large enough for 12 complete maps. This is typically
enough room to include maps for all engine options of a particular model generation. The Chip identifies the
engine during calibration. It is safe to swap the Chip to another vehicle of the same generation.

How do you test your product?
A dynamometer research verifies the expected gain in output. Our collection of dyno screen-shots is to be
incorporated into the site for review very soon. Specific screen-shots are available on request.

How hard is it to install?
Find your OBD II port, connect four wires, you're done. Click here to view installation instructions.

How hard is it to use?
It couldn't be easier! Once you've installed the chip, allow it to finish the initial automatic self calibration, and
that's it. No dip-switches or fine tuning. No deciphering a poorly translated instruction booklet from China. The
Volo Chip will automatically patch EPROM addresses as the ECU accesses them.

How hard is it to remove?
With the car off, simply disconnect the wires and your vehicle returns to factory settings.

Will it void my warranty?
Unlike ECU chip replacements or permanent ECU flashing, the Volo Chip makes no changes to the ROM
itself and does not require opening the ECU. It will not void your factory warranty.

Why is it so much cheaper than other ECU modifications?
The Volo Chip was purpose built and does not include some of the options that other modifications may have,
such as changing shift points, rev limits, and other parameters that cannot be soft-flashed. If all you're after is
efficiency, speed, and performance, then the Volo Chip is for you!

Will the Volo Chip disable factory speed limiter/fuel cut?
No, currently the VP11 is not designed to change parameters other than fuel delivery and ignition timing. We
are currently at work on a new hardware model that will.

When will you have one for my vehicle?
We're constantly adding new vehicles to the supported list. However, it takes time to develop the perfect
performance tuned map that goes into each vehicle specific Volo Chip. You can suggest your vehicle for
research by using the
Contact Us page. If we get enough requests for a particular vehicle, we'll bump it up our
list.

Whats the warranty on the Volo Chip?
The Volo Chip comes with a 60 day warranty from date of purchase against manufacturer defects. If it
becomes defective, simply return it with a note stating the nature of defect, and a return address to ship a
replacement. The Volo Chip's on-board history will be checked to verify correct installation. Removing the chip
from its socket, improper installation, or installing on a vehicle other than the one it was designed for will be
flagged in the Volo Chip's on-board history and will void the warranty.

What's the return policy on the Volo Chip?
In the rare event you don't notice a difference immediately, please reset the chip as indicated in the
instructions and try again. Depending on the vehicle, it may take up to 120 miles of driving before some ECUs
will accept the Volo Chip's patched values. This is a safety feature on some vehicles to prevent one bad
sensor from impairing the entire system.
If the chip has not been opened or installed, simply return it for a refund.
If the chip has been opened and installed, the on-board history will be check for correct installation and
adequate driving time. If you've tried everything and still don't notice a difference, we'll be glad to provide a full
refund of the purchase price.

How does it work?
The Volo Chip works by an exclusive
process of
Dynamic Soft-Flashing the
ECU.

Each Volo Chip comes programmed
with a highly tuned map and a set of
EPROM addresses that directly affect
efficiency and performance. When the
ECU attempts to read the specific
EPROM address, the Volo Chip
patches the factory value with one
from its tuned map.
